What the text is about

You're about to read a page from an electronics store: its rules for exchanges and the warranty. In Germany people read rules like these before going to the store: they say how many days you have for an exchange, what to bring with you, when you get your money back, and when you get store credit (a Gutschein). Read the questions first, then the text: that way you look for specific things — deadlines, money, conditions. Don't translate an unfamiliar word; guess it from the words around it. Two things to hold on to: Ohne Kassenbon können wir Ihnen nicht helfen — without the receipt we can't help you; Sie bekommen Ihr Geld zurück — you get your money back. And one pair of words, both “return” in English: zurückgeben — return the item and get your money back; umtauschen — exchange it for another one.
