Lesson 7. Module 3 review

I can review the whole module: talk about plans, say what I'm doing right now and what I've just done, set a condition, ask a formal question, and get the adverb right.

What we review

What we review

• Plans, promises, and forecasts — the futur simple: the infinitive plus -ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont; -re verbs drop the final -e (prendre → je prendrai); thirteen verbs have an irregular stem; after quand, the future. • The timeline: venir de — just now, être en train de — right now, aller + infinitive — any minute now. The time expression chooses the form: à l'instant, en ce moment, tout de suite. • A real condition: si and the présent, then the futur simple, the présent, or the imperative. Before il and ils write s'; before elle there's no élision. • A formal question — inversion: verb, hyphen, pronoun. An everyday question uses intonation or est-ce que; in a letter to a company and at an interview, choose inversion. • How exactly — an adverb in -ment; bien, mal, and vite have no -ment; in the passé composé a short adverb goes between avoir and the past participle. Module summary: you can now talk about plans and conditions, ask questions the way people ask them at a job interview, and read a job ad and someone else's résumé.
Three constructions on the timeline

The time expression next to it chooses the form.
