I can talk about yesterday and about my plans, ask and answer about the weather, hobbies, and how I feel, and keep the three tenses apart.
What we review
What we review
In this module you learned to talk about the past and about plans, the weather, hobbies, and what hurts. Now we review with new sentences.
Three tenses, three questions to ask yourself: is it happening now or usually (geliyor), has it already happened (geldi), or is it still to come (gelecek)? The time words tell you: şimdi, her gün — dün, geçen hafta — yarın, gelecek ay.
Where the personal ending goes in a question (see the table):
• Geliyor musun? Gelecek misin? — on the particle;
• Geldin mi? — on the verb, with the particle after it;
• Evde miydin? — at the very end.
“Was, wasn't, there was, there wasn't”: hastaydım, soğuktu, değildi, vardı, yoktu.
The verb chooses the case: -ı sevmek, beğenmek, aramak; -a bakmak, binmek, başlamak; -dan inmek, çıkmak.
“It hurts” is “my … hurts”: sırtım ağrıyor. The question words of the whole course are in the third table.
Only the mark over the letters tells two words apart: hala “aunt (father's sister)” and hâlâ “still”.
What you can now do:
• say what you did yesterday and on the weekend;
• ask “why?” and give a reason;
• describe the weather and how you feel;
• talk about plans.
