I can take a table at the дәмхана, order, say what I want to eat and drink, and ask for a missing utensil and the check.
At the дәмхана: the table, the order, “I want”, and the check
At the дәмхана: the table, the order, “I want”, and the check
Table and order. “Бос үстел бар ма?” — “Is there a free table?” (бос is “free”, not a boss). Ask for the menu with the phrase you know: “Ас мәзірін беріңізші”. To order is тапсырыс беру: “Тапсырыс бересіз бе?” “I need” and “I like” work as in module 5: Маған … керек, Маған … ұнайды. To someone eating you say “Асыңыз дәмді болсын!” (“Enjoy your meal!”); at the end you ask for the есепшот, the check.
“I want” is three set phrases. The waiter asks: “Не ішкіңіз келеді?” You answer: “Шай ішкім келеді”, “Палау жегім келеді”. No маған here: say it with no pronoun or with менің. Don't use this form with other verbs yet: that is the next level. “I'm hungry” is “Қарным ашты”, “I'm thirsty” is “Шөлдедім”.
Tea is drunk from a bowl without a handle, кесе, not from a cup (шыныаяқ), often with milk: шайды сүтпен ішеді. With tea comes бауырсақ, fried pieces of dough. What you eat with takes the same ending as автобуспен: қасықпен, шанышқымен, пышақпен.
Common mistakes:
• ×Маған шай ішкім келеді → Шай ішкім келеді
• ×қасықта жеймін → қасықпен жеймін
• ×Мен есепшот керек → Маған есепшот керек
