I can say which languages I know and am learning, how I speak and understand — well, badly, slowly — and ask someone to repeat or speak more slowly.

Languages and the verb գիտեմ
Language names end in -երեն: հայերեն, ռուսերեն, անգլերեն. Unlike English, they're lowercase. With a verb, the language takes no ending and no article, and the linking verb comes right after it: Անգլերեն եմ կարդում — I read English. Ռուսերեն ենք գրում — we write Russian.
“To know” is a special verb: it has no -ում form and no separate linking verb. It's one word: գիտեմ, գիտես, գիտի, գիտենք, գիտեք, գիտեն. “I don't know” is written as one word: չգիտեմ, չգիտես, չգիտի, չգիտենք, չգիտեք, չգիտեն.
• Հայերեն գիտե՞ս — do you know Armenian?
• Այո, գիտեմ — yes, I know.
How you do it: a word like “well” or “fast” comes before the verb (not at the end, as in English), and the linking verb right after it: լավ եմ հասկանում — I understand well, դանդաղ է խոսում — he / she speaks slowly.
նաև — also, միայն — only: Միայն անգլերեն գիտեմ.
The set phrases for asking someone to repeat or explain are in the table.
Common mistakes:
• NOT “Ես գիտում եմ” → Ես գիտեմ.
• NOT “Չեմ գիտեմ” → Չգիտեմ.
In թարգմանել you write գ but hear [kʰ].
To know: one word, no -ում
“Not” is written together with the verb itself — there's no separate linking verb here.
