At the box office of a movie theater or a theater, a few phrases are enough; they are in the table.
• Tickets. What the ticket is for takes the dative, where English says “for”: сеансқа, концертке, кинотеатрға. After a number, the singular: екі билет. Кешкі — evening, таңғы — morning: кешкі сеанс.
• Row and seat are ordinal numbers: бесінші қатар, оныншы орын.
• Time: басталады — “starts”, бітеді — “ends”. In the past: басталды, бітті.
• Admission: кіру тегін — “admission is free”.
With the endings “my, your, his / her, our” the word орын drops its ы: орны, орным. Without such an ending the vowel stays: бос орын.
To ask permission, use a set phrase: кіруге бола ма? — “may I go in?” The answer: болады — “yes, you can” or болмайды — “no, you can't”. Learn the phrase as a whole.
Museum — мұражай; people also say музей.
