One fix at a time

On a real shoot there's no time for ten fixes. There's time for one — and you have to choose it. The rule is simple: fix whatever catches a stranger's eye the most. Usually that's not the composition but clutter in the background and at the edges. In this task the shot has several flaws at once. Work out which one is the main one, and remove exactly that one. One warning: the pole behind the head can't be fixed with the frame — wherever you move the frame, it follows. You fix distractions like that with your feet, and that's what the next lesson is about.
