Lesson 5. Reading: weekend plans

I can read messages about weekend plans and understand who suggests what, what's already done, and how much it costs.

What the messages are about

Before you read

Lucía and Diego are texting on Thursday and deciding where to go this weekend. The messages use two key expressions: “hay que hacer cola” — “you have to stand in line” — and “al aire libre” — “outdoors, in the open air” (for example, cenar al aire libre). Read the text twice: first all the way through, to see what they agree on, then for the details. All the events are in tenses you already know: pretérito perfecto (the present perfect) for things that belong to this week, pretérito indefinido (the preterite) for last year.
