Prices and numbers to 10,000

Prices and numbers to 10,000

Why: to ask a price at the bazaar, understand the seller's answer, and ask for something to be weighed. “How many tenge is the bread?” Shorter: Қанша тұрады? You know тұрады as “lives” and “stands”; for a price, too, the word is тұрады. A request: Жарты келі ірімшік беріңізші “Half a kilo of cheese, please”. By the piece — with No “of”, and after a number the word stays singular: Numbers above 100 follow the English order, each part a separate word (see the table): You will hear тым “too” at the bazaar: Тым қымбат!
Numbers from 100 to 10,000
